AI Detectors fail because they are trained to detect the emissions from AI systems, but AI systems are trained on human data. The result is a feedback loop that makes it impossible, or at best not worth the effort, to distinguish between human and AI-generated content. So where do we end up if we want to write, create, and share content that can also be created by a machine?
An analogy I think of goes back to an organ we had in my house when I was a kid. It had a little panel with these buttons you could press that would play different kinds of rhythms. There was Bossa Nova, Waltz, Rock and so on. It was the coolest thing ever. The little electric piano we have in the house these days has a similar feature, way more advanced. I can't even figure it out, but if you bang around with settings and twist knobs, you can effectively have a band playing with you and whatever piano keys you bang on results in key changes that sound like you know what you're doing.
Do we lose something in the creative process if we do not learn the satisfaction of creating?
