AI Detectors fail because they are trained to detect the emissions from AI systems, but AI systems are trained on human data. The result is a feedback loop that makes it impossible, or at best not worth the effort, to distinguish between human and AI-generated content. Do we lose something in the creative process if we do not learn the satisfaction of creating? Suppose in this world of AI, we are all likely human. Do we end up with ‘analog content’ prioritized over ‘digital content’? Do we end up with a world in which we all assume that everything is either AI-generated or augmented, or collaborated with AI in some fashion?
