Like an HOA feature of a community housing sort of thing that keeps the amount of compute is consumes to a minimum. Perhaps that's for environmental reasons, or perhaps it's to keep the cost of the community low. Or, perhaps it's to keep the community from being a target for cyber attacks. Or, perhaps it's for quality of life reasons. A desireable attribute for some people who would prefer to live in a community that is less fixated on computation for any number of reasons, like a co-op that attributes itself to certain values, social norms, or a particular lifestyle.
